September 2009
About ten or twelve years ago, we took a couple of holidays in the Dordogne, staying at the same campsite several miles out of Sarlat. This year we decided to make a return visit and bring Karon’s Mum along for her first holiday in several years. Accommodation was a converted barn – more space and more comfort than a KeyCamp tent or mobile home.
We drove down, stopping overnight in the Loire region in a very nice ‘gastro-hotel’ out in the countryside. We stayed in a little hamlet called Tremolat, literally a stone’s throw from the big river that gives its name to the area.
